ten for twelve :)

A pair of twinkling eyes that are lit up before the dawn
In haste to get ready, he doesn't have time to stretch or yawn
His little fingers searching for lemons in the bush
Getting pricked by thorns daily, they rush

Rushes to his home, with body pricked from head to toe
Wash each lemon till it attains its yellow glow
Put them all in a basket, with a prayer in heart
To sell them all,the tedious task starts

Isolated, dusty streets is all they see
He take pride in standing under a shady tree
Away from privileges of AC TV or games
He is determined to change his destiny and earn his name

Take ten for twelve is their daily song
For angels who"ll but these lemons, they wait for long
Too naive to understand its too humid and hot
And for almost everyone malls are the shopping spots

He questions himself and others in vicinity
that why are we taken as beggars even when we dont plea
WE want want to earn with all our dignity
we aren't one of those business men so witty

Elegant ladies shun him away as if he is untouchable
To see his hard work, these rich dumb ladies are incapable
Dont they realise that these lemons will be as sour as one in marts
And cant they spare 12 bugs, appreciate his early start

whatever he earns goes in his earthen piggy bank
now he is determined to study all night long, get a rank
With no regrets no desires he sleeps blissfully
And for another day's toil he is fully ready

I salute to that young wonder ,respect his deeds
So diligent ,away from worldly greed
i wish one day he gets what he desires
And wish all my life he keeps me inspired

My vision Of India

Living in this country for past 20 years, being its proud citizen
But sometimes it slightly deters from what i envisioned
The golden bird has lost its lusture and desire to fly
Its roots are hollow development might be high

I dream of an India where there are basic necessities for all
There is water in the wells, electricity in the poles
Where not a single person goes to sleep with an empty stomach
And everyone has a roof on their head,no one curses his luck

I dream of an India where democracy is not just a term
where the people work hard, black money is not for what they yearn
Where politicians not just wear white but act white
Where people are not judged by their power of money or might

I dream of an India where all religions are respected and preached
Where people ,together celebrate holi, guruparv , christmas and eid
where there are no upper or lower castes
and massacres over religion no more last

I dream of an India where women have right to life
Where they are carrier oriented and not just obedient wives
Where modesty of girls is not outraged on every road
Where they are judged by their deeds and not their clothes

I dream of an India where  education means to learn and explore
Where ideas speak for themselves but marks don't roar
where mugging up books is not the key to success
where every job is equal even if the money earned is less

I don't just dream i know this will come true
only and only if we come forward i.e. me and you
Join hands and work in this direction
And make India the best place to be in

Why I am afraid of being a girl

Was reading the entire article about the gang rape that happened in Delhi....Frankly speaking i was not shocked. For me Delhi has become the hub of such crimes. So i overlooked though somewhere deep I was very upset and even scared.Somehow I got access to certain articles regarding the incident concerning the brutality she faced and even her medical conditions..and yes this time i sat staring at the screen for minutes..imagining the entire trauma and pain she must have gone through.A chill ran down my spine.
My mother is now afraid to send me out at night however urgent it maybe. So am I.
But the question is until when??
Where am I actually safe??
We read news of girls being raped by relatives, friends(sometimes even boyfriends), teachers and roadside mongrels. So basically from our very homes which are considered the safest place to our schools the temple of education girls are safe nowhere.earlier we were taught if you sense danger please go to a public place with lots of people around..Seriously seeing today's scenario where people can see a rape happening on road..eve teasing happening at every nook and corner , are you kidding me?
The delhi rape incident happened in a delhi transport bus running on roads of delhi. So you are telling me that the public transport are  also not safe? That means every one should own their own vehicles.Because the government denies any responsibility in such cases.some politicians claim that the girls wear inappropriate clothes and invite danger. Are they trying to say that in winters of delhi a girl would have been wearing explicit clothes at night? And ok even if she is then government instead of coming forward and taking responsibility of protecting girls is going gaga with "n" number of excuses putting the girl at fault.Applause for our DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT.
I don't understand instead of finding ways like girls should not go out late at night, day working shifts,be fully clothes etc etc why doesn't the government find ways to increase security of girls.Due to the insensitive behavior of police and the entire fiasco of court 75%of cases are not even filed. And those that are even filed take years to be solved and mostly the rapists come out free.
In the entire rape scenario it is the girl who is showcased at fault. Why?She is raped mentally physically socially...and then she is the culprit and not that bastard who could control his sexual urges and pounced upon a little girl who couldn't fight back?
And in case of gang rapes the condition is even worse.4-5 men preying on a single girl and once the victim is in their claws she is devoid of everything she earned in life within the next few minutes
For our law the punishment for rapes are 7-10 years.and in some cases where a lot of hype is created even life time imprisonment. But is this enough?Rape is equivalent to murder. It is killing of soul of a girl who after this incident will not only face physical harm but the pain inflicted on her personality will never erode.Death sentence is also a very liberal punishments for rapists.and cancelling the license of the drivers?wow what a punishment!!!

Yes i am very agitated. To an extent that i feel ashamed of living in India where people worship goddesses and rape little girls.
Personally i would request girls if a guy has audacity to pass a comment over you see the scene and if possible reply back. You not taking an action today might give him the strength to hold your hand next time and then maybe a sexual assault.Speak for yourself
and for all those reading this article if you see a girl being eve teased don't be hesitant saying "k faltu k pachde mein kaun pade". go ahead help her.maybe today your help saves her and tomorrow someone comes forward to save you.
only and only if people become lil more sensitive then for all those mentally unstable charged up mongrels -your days are going to end very soon.
